Water is soft. Install wasn't bad, but the valve command module took some actress finesse. One badgerer is that the hat to the salt basic in loose and not sealed quite as snugly as y'all'd expect. Just the biggest problem is the Smart HQ app that is supposed to control the unit. After day three I can't do anything but open the app. If I click anything the app shuts down. The recommendation from GE support was to download the Comfort-GE app instead of the Smart HQ app, but it does the aforementioned affair. Further inquiries with GE support yielded this respond: "The app team is aware of the outcome and working on a set up. Delight be on the sentinel for any updates to the app. Thank you, Ian Tier 2 Tech Support GE Appliances | Connected Abode" Assuming that the app would work I could rate the overall feel better. However, the poorly developed telematics and inadequate support land me at 2/5 stars.

It's a solid water softener. A few weeks in and (besides the app crashing until there was a new update) no problems. The area where I live has some of the hardest h2o in the United states, and then I'm happy to accept soft water now. Though I think the hard water tasted a footling improve. The only "smart" features are that y'all can shut off h2o to your water softener, it tells you water usage of previous days, and information technology tells y'all the judge of when you should refill with salt. There is sadly no way to conform any of the settings from the app. Being able to remotely shut off water is probably a expert matter in an emergency.

Bought this to replace an onetime water that had seen improve days. After setting this 1 up, our water became clearer and the stains started disappearing from our toilets. This uses much less common salt than our old softener that had 3 regen days a week. And the water has gotten that soft feeling without feeling slimy. I had no trouble hooking upwards the softener or the WIFI. All in all this seems to do what information technology'due south supposed to do and I look forward to many years of service.
